I was in the market for a BP M4 a few years back, still am as a matter of fact! The appeal of the brassing and chipped paint can't be duplicated with a chrome body. Some people think it a waste of money to buy a beat up looking camera like this, I think it's a waste of money to buy fake tits, to each his own

I scratched my itch by picking up a BP MP, it has some minor brassing in the right places, still want a BP M4 though!

The M6 has top and bottom covers made of cast zinc which is then anodized (plated) black. The older M cameras had brass covers which are painted with black enamel. The old black paint cameras were produced in more limited numbers, and are popular with collectors.
