Hi, I asked in a previous thread already, but I would like to ask you again (though a bit differently):

Do you know about ANY kind of case for the Yashica CC/CCN/Wide?

I bought one of these treasures, it is in 100% condition, but I would like to maintain its mintness. I am not asking only for leather case but I am interested in any case (plastic, elastic, etc.)

What are your solutions?

Thanks for any comments in advance!

they have an original erc case, i think that for collectible condition cameras you should consider only the original

Hi Sinuhetmerlin,

I too think the Yashica Electro 35 CC/CCN is a treasure. I have 2 of them. :D I use the original case they came in for storage. That said, I never carry them in their case. I prefer to carry the camera in a very small bag which you can find here:

http://www.amazon.com/Rothco-Urban-...OBCW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323457694&sr=8-1

I've been very happy with this bag and the price is great. If you really wanted to, you could also add some extra cushioning to the bag with an insert. Personally, I don't bother.

I'm not positive, but there’s an insert on *bay titled "puleme 7518 Partition padded bag SLR DSLR Camera insert" that I think fits the bag mentioned above.

BTW: I prefer to use a wrist strap on the camera with this set up + I recommend a lens hood sold by seller Heavystar on *bay. Search for " New! Metal Wide Angle 52mm Screw-in Lens Hood ". This is a compact/wide/straight (not tilted) hood that does not interfere with the Yashica Electro 35 CC/CCN's viewfinder/rangefinder.

NOTE: I tried a cool looking vented/tilted hood, but it blocked the viewfinder/rangefinder and was more bulky.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Dave

Yeah, if I would have one ... I bought this rare camera in a good condition without. And you cannot find even on *bay a separate original case for it.

Dave, thanks a lot! I went through the whole RFF. I read a lot of things here. I have seen a wrist strap, it is on the way to me. I heard about the lens hood, but was not sure about it, but will order it later. I just got the camera, i have to test it with a film. But I am a bit afraid of using it without any cover on the street. The bag, which you recommend seems a bit too big for me. Will try to find sth smaller, sth for a size of Canon G12 or similar. Maybe it will fit. Who knows ... :(

Could wait for an original case to arrive on Ebay or a find a Neoprene case.
Might ask Japan Exposures if they could make you one. I just purchased my first Electro CC on an auction and should receive next week and it didn't come with a case. If you find one that you liked please give us an update.
Good Luck

I found my CC at a thrift store and it came with a never-ready case, so that exists. Don't use it, though. That said, I would recommended using something. I lost the film rewind knob after it loosened up while shuffling it in and out of my pocket. Mark Hama might have an original case to sell you? Otherwise, for your reference, below is what a CC case looks like. The GSN case is quite a bit bigger and has a different logo on front.

As for the camera itself, get close and open it wide. Happy shooting.

He's sold a number of the CC/CCN models, plus other Yashica, plus many many Fujica rangefinders.

I'd check with him. He clearly has a Yashi source along with a Fujica/Fujifilm source.

Good luck.
