Werra all the way. Incredible minimalistic aesthetics and a really unique experience to shoot with!

I think the Paxettes are cute too.
The Bolsey is also pretty cute, but not much of a user.
Minolta A2. The early Minoltas in general all look slightly toyish.
The whole Pax line up is pretty cute, but they are not known for build quality.

olympus 35RC! good size and cute.
My gf when she first got started really enjoyed the Trip 35 even if it's very basic.
(maybe esp. because it is)

A girl once told me that my Yashica GSN was "a cute little camera"
I think the Olympus XA is cute and I also like the FED-2 with a collapsible lens .. very cute
The Cononet QL 17 G111 is cute
A Barnack Leica ... maybe over budget but worth it.
What type of cameras has she used and liked?

How about the American cutie Signet 35? It even has a little red dot on it.

+1 on the Signet 35. Also consider the Konica C35. Just as cute as the Hi-Matic 7SII for a fraction of the price.

A Diax IIb is one of the cutest cameras ever. Finding one in working condition is the hard part.

Easily the cutest camera I've ever owned, a Ricoh 500G. It's light, tiny, has a nice viewfinder, and is all metal. It's about the same size as the aforementioned Konica C35 and is shutterspeed priority. Other than that, though scale focus, check out the Olympus Trip 35. Best value camera in my arsenal with great ergonomics and a sharp lens!
Cheers and good luck! I've done this same thing before (and settled on a Werra, but that's besides the point!)

Another vote for Werra.

+1, but which one? I believe some are scale focus, and some RF and interchangable lens?
I have seen them complete in the box in shops in Prague. I have a couple that followed me home. Maybe saw one this side of the pond.
I think all are cool looking, especially with the lens hood reversed with all the little parts -- they were able to CLA one for me at Foto Skoda.

I think some here are confusing cute with small. And what a man finds cute is very different than what a woman finds to be cute.

Contax T : Not the cheapest, but a gorgeous jewel of a camera.

You're going down a slippery slope -- next the Signet 50, and the Ultimate Signet, the 80-- with the three lenses? I even saw one once in a movie, complete with the soundtrack motor drive sounds.
This thread is reminding me that Camera Hoarders is closing in on me, I think I have just about one of every one mentioned, my Signet 50 is in the box, I gave my first one away, but years later bought the "better" one, NIB ;-)
As the lady wishes her cute camera to take photos, perhaps the suggestions should be divided by "ages" Petri made many cute cameras, vintage, and well, more vintage, but being long in the tooth, functionality may be compromised in general.
A list of Nikon Compacts, the 35 Ti was certainly a looker on top, I must be old as the site says it was introuced in '93 and I was surprised.

Gender stereotypes, here we come!
regarding cute cameras...I think my newly acquired Minolta ALS is cute. Very cute. And for the record: my girlfriend agrees
I since changed the strap to a Gordies with red cord and the hood is now a silver one, matching the body:

Remember the Simpsons episode where Marge gets a birthday bowling ball called 'Homer' : A parable you want to avoid by getting a 'cute' verging on hello kitty camera that is clearly not yet another one for yourself ?
