Hi all,
Just wanted to know is there a difference between the chrome
or Black 35mm f2.5 lenses. I have the chrome now and as you
know it's really nice and wanted to ask all you Nikon guy's what
you think?

From a user perspective, I certainly appreciate that the black version is lighter when I replaced my chrome W-Nikkor (among other things it makes it easier to use the focus wheel). Never noticed any optical performance difference.

I was going to get one but I have the chrome and like it plus the
Voightlander 25f4 is coming the end of the week and I'm looking foward to
a wider view, and come to think of it when I owned the Leica the only
lenses I used was a 35mm and 90mm and this 25mm is the widest I ever
used on a rangefinder so it should be a treat!

As was stated the later black lens is lighter in weight .
The white on black markings are easier to read in lower light .
As time passed Nikon improved the coatings on the rf lenses ,
Later black lenses give nicer color rendition than earlier chrome ones
( for the most part )
