Any idea about $500 rebate on M8?

I know Leica has the $500 gift certificate on a future Leica purchase if you purchase a M7 or MP now. Any idea if this will apply to the M8 as well?

But no.....you will not get a $500 certificate for BUYING the M8 itself...at least not while people are lining up to pay full price.

The rebate is to boost sagging film camera sales.

I confirmed my own question last night when talking to the Leica rep at Samy's in Orange County. He said that hte $500 gift certificate will not be given on the purchase of a M8. At least not htis year he said. But possibly after the new year.
