Two days ago Mike Johnston was promising some teasers at his new web home:

but nothing has materialized so far.
I've read nothing about ISOs, but a 1.33 crop factor has been mentioned, along with
a possible debut at photokina. Trust me, if there's anything at PMA, I'll be passing it
along.

After all, we all know that these fancy-pants engineers with their big-sounding degrees and their glitzy labs and their big budgets are just frauds. They can't do a gosh-darn thing that couldn't be accomplished by a regular guy who's willing to roll up his sleeves and apply his common sense. Why, the only reason we don't ALREADY have $199 digital Leicas with noiseless 24x36mm sensors, not to mention pollution-free 100mpg carburetors, free broadcast electricity and machine-washable kidneys is that the Big Boys (and we all know who I mean!) have a big conspiracy to hold down the honest do-it-yourself inventor and keep his breakthroughs from reaching the public. Most people are too stupid to know this, but I know YOU can handle the truth!

But I remain really dubious about the ability of a do-it-yourselfer to do a better job than a manufacturer in engineering a digital camera that would be practical for real-world photographers to use as a working tool.
If it were just a matter of buying an off-the-shelf sensor and duct-taping it to the back of an M2 body, dontcha think Leica would have done it a couple of years ago so they could start selling it and collecting all that nice money?
