Any MacGuyver Photo Tips?

I am preparing for my trip next week, and thought about what gear I wanted to bring. I also made a note to get some more ziplock bags from the store. I usually bring them in my bag, one large one for each body, and one small one for each lens, in case of rain. Also, a shower cap from the hotel room fits snugly over a small camera bag in a pinch.

I am sure many of us have other improvisation tricks to share, so let's hear 'em 😉

Garbage bags are always good. I'm going to pickup some Glad "Hefty Sacks", very strong, good for rain, using as ground cover etc.

I need more "Sharpies" and bug spray too.

Here's another one, for the times you buy a leica lens without a front cap on ebay. The yellow cap on a large Mott's apple juice jug is a snug 39mm. 😉

Bring a changing bag just in case. They are light enough to carry on a trip.

Fred, where do you get yours? I have to save them from imported tins of Japanese wasabi-coated peas, but I'm beginning to grow tired of eating that stuff (the peas, not the gel!). Quick, someone tell me where to buy the latter before I have to skin a supermodel.

Changing bag's a good idea for a trip, too. I ruined a roll of film with my late Zorki-6.

Ronnie, try a craft store or a business that dries flowers. You can probably buy it by the kilo.

Have you seen the new Ziploc ® XL and XXL storage bags? http://www.ziploc.com/big-bags/

I saw them at Sam's Club last week.
