You left that poor frog in the chlorine for 'hours' while it's legs were being threatened in canine French!
I hope you pulled the little guy out Frank...

Good morning!
It's 9:15 in California and the fog is burning off.
I'd call you people sick, except that I just sat up, yawned, and immediately checked out RangefinderForum, which I suppose makes me sick also.
Off to walk the dogs.

This thread reminds me of the Seinfeld TV episodes. It's about nothing, and it is a success.

No offense intended, but I might vomit just hearing about this. That stuff isn't for everyone -- I just can't even take the smell!physiognomy said:I'm having toast with Vegemite for breakfast.

Vegemite? What's that, a crappy version of Marmite?

WHAT WAS IT ALL ABOUT:
Dear friends,
We have been having a wonderful thread at Guy or Gal, which included a new member appearing publicly, somewhat related, until a row of personal attacks left the thread in pieces, with no much future for more readers. Basicly nothing new at RFF, but in my opinion something about which we should start raising our voices at higher a volume.
The related postings there are # 226, 227,228 until 233. A wonderful thread with almost 8 thousand views, about a about how to recruit more women members - lyies from now as a dead corpse.

Yes, and what's important about it?

Ignore It (It'll go away)
THIS thread is uncalled-for. I see a little friction in the posts you mention, Ruben, but no blazing fire there that required you to sound the alarm and start up another thread calling out modertors. Your PM should have been sufficient.
I guess I too need additional coffee...

Yes, Ruben, I did. I guess I just didn't feel it was quite as hostile as you may. That is a very difficult topic that raises all sorts of emotions. That's why I rarely engage in that kind of discussion.
Like many, I work in a male-dominated profession. There are a minority of women and they are as individual as the men. Some are good at what they do, others are slackers, and many are basically mediocre. Just like the men. I, personally, try to treat them as individuals just as I expect them to treat me as an individual. There is little truth in generalizations (although I am the first to say that stereotypes are often more fact than fiction
).
In terms of the "guys or gals" thread... I think it is interesting, but it's one that is sure to get emotional at some point (as it did). It's great that a few of the lurkers appeared and i hope they post more often -- not becasue they are women, but because they are interesting.
As for Jenni.. she can take care of herself. Any one who chooses to make her cross is on their own as far as i'm concerned. I'll just sit back and watch the action becasue I KNOW how it will turn out!

BTW, Volker... is that ~really~ a pic of your wife in the Brasil shirt? My wife slapped me upside the head for looking at her. She said I was "leering". If so, my sincere apologies to your wife!

meh.. this thread (and the other thread mentioned) are a lot like one particular Shakespearean play; both in terms of the title and type of said play.
Everyone take a chill pill - relax - and go out and shoot.
If you've got a significant other (i.e. female OR male) go and give them ONE of your cameras for a day and see what they think of this "hobby" of ours. It would be a fun experiment and perhaps a way to not only get them interested in it but it might just ensure that Ruben doesn't "blow a gasket" so-to-speak
Cheers
