I don't really follow digital cameras much but I hear new cameras coming from Leica, Fuji, Sony, etc. It seems like everyone is pushing for new digital compact cameras, so what about Ricoh?
They seem a generation behind, to me.

Nothing this year except the a16 24-85 zoom that uses the Sony 16mp sensor. I have the a12 m module, I have been hoping for a m module update to a16.
They seem to be concentrating on their new Pentax acquisition.

That's too bad
I have a soft spot for Ricoh's. I prefer them over all the other mirrorless cameras, even the ones out now.

yeah, i mostly agree, though i have a soft spot for fuji also for most of the same reasons. but the gxr m mount is such a great machine, its a shame it appears at least to be the mirrorless analog to the red headed step child. i bought and sold the much touted omd besause my lowly 12mp gxr outperformed it in every way. and its so well designed software wise and ergonomically, sigh...tbh i consider the external evf a big plus for street shooting as it articulates thus obscuring ones intended target from your direct stare.
