There's what appears to be a clean *black* MX with 50 1.7 and MX winder locally right now - he's on the north side or I'd grab it. He still had it as of this morning and the ad's almost a week old.

Less than $200 for all!

Grumble... trying to figure a way of getting this myself!!! I had a pair of black MXes before I got my first news job and had to switch to Nikon back in the 70s, and always liked them.

The D70s went to live with its new foster family a few weeks ago, but this is cheap enough that I'm not too worried. An MX is a marvel of the Japanese camera maker's art ca. 1976!
 
Ahhh.. the lovely Pentax MX - I so wanted one of those - I actually had an LX at one point in time - truly a beautiful and remarkable camera. I think it was the only camera I ever used that metered the way it did.... awesome camera... sad to see it go.

My Pentax MX count...2 Black Bodies w/Winders (1 Recently CLA'd) and 1 Chrome all have the 50mm 1.7
I also have a couple of Vivitar Series 1 lenses in the K mount and a few M42's with the adapter...
Somebody grab this one...
 
Was it on Craig's list? I must have missed it....

Craig's list is dangerous for GAS... I had to pass up a Leica V35 enlarger last week, decent price and VERY close to home. Too soon after buying my first M, the wife just couldn't understand why I needed MORE :D
 
Fiscal sanity reigned. I took a pass.

It's still on Craigslist if anyone's interested - $170 for black MX, 50/1.7 and Winder MX. Sigh.
 
I have tried out many lenses, and I have finally returned to stock up on Pentax lenses for the SLR system. They really are that good.


My main stable:

17mm/4 28mm/2 35mm/2 50mm/1.4 50mm/4 macro 85mm/1.8
 
What do you like about images from Pentax lenses? What convinced you to go back to them?

My main stable: Pentax A 50.1.4; 50 1.2; A 24 2.8; A 35 2; A* 135 1.8; M 80-200 4.5; A 2X; A 1.4X
 
Oh.. if any of you need a CLA on a pentax SLR - I strongly suggest you check out the PDML (Pentax Discussion Mailing List) - there are a number of Leica owners on it as well.

It was, when I was on it and likely still, the busiest mailing list around.
