I've always admired classic Minox cameras (B, C, III, IIIs) - they're like little jewels. I managed to pick up a clean early IIIs and working meter a number of years ago, and made a point of shooting the daylights out of it for a year or so. They're capable of amazing results with the slow speed films like Tech Pan that are needed because of the fixed f/3.5 aperture.

I just found the camera and accessories again today. My first thought was to sell it off to add to the M3 fund, but now I'm not so sure. Handling it brought back those old feelings of being fascinated that a working camera could be so small and precise. Besides, looking at eBay it looks like the market for them has tanked.

Is anyone else here interested in Minoxii? They're direct view, so they kinda fit in at RFF... 😉 I'm considering picking up a film slitter and looking for a submini enlarger.

Interesting! I used to use my IIIs' a lot. They are really great little cameras. My Dad was a big fan of Minox's (one of my IIIs' is his). I kind of got away from them in the 90's, but wonder if I should return to carrying one again. They are so easy to carry and use. I have Dad's other equipment - enlarger, negative viewer, developing reel, etc. With today's film they should be better than ever. I love B&W which they are great for.
You have inspired me to take out the Minox's and give it a try! 😎

I have my Minox C with me everywhere. I usually have a 35mm or Med Format camera too, but sometimes I just don't want to carry much and the Minox just goes in a pocket. I shoot mostly color since I don't have the set up to print my own B&W, like I do for other formats. I have the developing tank, but I'd like to pick up an enlarger too. It is fun to get back the little gem like prints. I suppose this is now a niche that is well filled by digicams, but like a lot of us, I just love to use the funky little Minox.

its amazing...i was just thinking the today how fesible it would be to own one of those smart little minox cameras. I love the size of those bad boys and the ability to use manuel control (also it isnt a digital). Seeing i have a negative scanner now...using one wont be a huge hassle, however has anyone used the film slicers they sell on ebay...being in NZ makes it hard to buy the minox film already cut

I have not used the film splicers sold on Ebay, but I have not heard good things about them. There are instructions for making your own splitter own the web (sorry, don't remember where but Google should find it pretty quick). Slitting your own film and scanning would be a good economical use of the Minox. It really is an expensive camera to use now a days. $10 for a roll plus $20 for processing and prints equals just a little under a dollar a shot for tiny prints. I still love it, but it is hard to justify at the cost.
