I recently got a fed 3a -- a pretty nice camera. But I got a problem with shutter speed selector it constantly slips when I try to change shutter speeds. The reason is there is almost nothing left of the little screws that hold the dial. They are really worn out and the camera is pretty much unusable because of that. Can anyone give me a tip where I could get them. Or maybe someone has these lying around in some box? Thank you.

I'll have peek in my "spares" and see if I have any - you mean the little grub-screws set in the rim of the speed-change dial don't you? Not promising I do have any but I'll look...

Yes, Yes, I mean the two screws in the rim of the speed change dial. I already tried to use the screws from a bad fed-5, but they were a bit too short and therefore - useless. That would be great if you find something, thanks for looking.

I've got a Zenit 3M in my scrap box (less the winding gear). I found the speed knob and tried one of the screws in my FED3a. They fit, but are about 1/2 to 1mm to long. The Fed screws are about 2mm long, these are about 3mm. This FED3a is the one with the speeds on the camera top, rather than on the knob itself, this makes the knob a little taller.....anyway, you can have them if you like. They could be screwed into the Zenit knob until they poke out into the hole in the centre, then you could file them down.
Regards, Dave...

Hi Dave,

I think your screws might fit just fine. I just mesured the fed3a screws (speeds are on the dial) and they are about 2.8mm. It'll be great if you could send these in a letter. I'll send you a pm. Thanks alot.

Lubitel,

Glad you seem to be sorted since I don't have suitable ones, sorry
