Any thoughts on this lens hood for a QL17 GIII

It's basically a 48mm to 52mm step up ring with a Hama 52mm square hood. I just ordered one, but found no information on anyone using this setup. I'd like to hear some words from anyone using this, or if it was even a good buy. I had been using the collapsible rubber round hood.

Hi, I use a 48->49mm step-up ring... with an Olympus OM-1 wide angle filter.

I just went to my local camera shop and scoured their hood bin for what fit. Gave them a fiver and left.

I've got a Sigma "Perfect Hood" pinch-on petal-shaped hood for my Canonets. It was probably made for a 46mm fit, as I have to exert a bit of "squeeze" to get it on correctly. Easy on and off, though...

That vendor also offers screw-on hoods of various configurations, and his prices for THOSE is pretty good.
