this is just a fyi...
i traded for a metal 48mm screw on hood in hopes that it would fit on my 50/1.4 and it does.
obviously the size is right but i thought it would intrude into the fov and not be usuable.
it is slightly wider and deeper than the original canon hood and at first glance through the finder i thought it was way too big. but after comparing the 2 there really is not that big of a difference.
and i like/prefer a screw on to a clamp on cause i'm a scaredy kinda cat about losing that expensive hood.
so now i have 3 hoods that work and feel secure so that losing one won't bother me as much.
anyway, for those who were looking for a hood, maybe a metal 48 screw on is in your future.
btw, i also bought and tried a 48 screw on rubber collapsible hood but that one really got in the way of the fov.
anyone want it?, free for the asking.
