Any X Pro 1 owners came from using M8 or M9

I own an M8 and my new X Pro 1 is being used way more. My M8 I feel is getting blown away. I am just wondering who else on this forum has used an M8 or M9, bought an X Pro 1 and is now using the Fuji way more than the Leica? I would really like to hear observations on image quality, camera, etc,,,. That Fuji 35 f1.4 is blowing away my V4 35 Summicron and my Nokton f1.2 35mm. Only my Noctilux f1.0 is getting use right now on my X Pro 1.
 
Owned the M9. Once I bought the X-Pro1 (and already being a X100 fan), the M9 was not getting used as much due to the X-Pro1's high ISO capabilities, it's macro abilities, the 35mm being great, the dedicated shutter speed dial / aperture ring, and it being much lighter than a M. So, I sold the M9. After a month or so, I missed having a M... but only for emotional reasons. So, I bought a M8 for those times when I want to mess with a RF.

The Fujis are undoubtably my main cameras. They fit my work better than any other camera. However, there is nothing like a M and the M is the closest thing ergonomically to a film camera when you have it in your hand. That said, the 35mm by Fuji for $600 makes me think twice about ever buying an overpriced Leica lens ever again (build quality aside).
 
I too had an M9 and a 35 mm Leica lens, and had a 50 mm Leica lens on order when the X-Pro1 came out. I cancelled the 50 mm and bought the X-Pro1 and the 35 mm lens. I found I was using the Fuji more and more plus I found I lost more shots due to the manual ( I wear glasses and found it difficult to focus the tiny focus screen ) do the Leica kit was sold. I now have a Nikon D600 as my second camera.

Hi I still use an m8.2, but to be fair I use it less and less. In well lit situations the M8.2 produces stunning results, but so does the x-pro1. I won't get rid of the M8.2, but it will retire gracefully.
 
I had an M8 and an M9 and sold the M8 in part to fund the XP1 purchase. I use the M9 and the XP1 about equally. I love the look of wide-angles on the M9 chip -- it is just such a great look. I also prefer the M9 for street shooting -- all manual is easier than remembering which mode I am in and betting that the autofocus and I agree about what is most important in the scene. The Fuji is great when the lights are low, though. And the Fuji has that mirrorless-as-universal lens platform thing going on. I think the two cameras compliment each other well.

I had the X100 and I hated it, also the X10. I couldn't make myself take the chance on the XP1 given my past Fuji experiences. I bought an M8 to try: it's been incredible thus far. It is the first digital camera that I have used in which I sometimes forget it's a digital camera! The files are way better than they ought to be (Capture Pro One 7): they make my 1Ds MkIII files look sort of mushy by comparison. I also love the colours. I didn't like the X100's colours, although I presume the X-Trans sensor will be different.

I have a funny feeling I may buy the X-Pro1 one day just to give it whirl.

Picked up 5D MKI, used it for work, worked well.
Sold it all picked up 2 NEX 5n's over some time.. good camera.
Just purchased an X-E1 and 35/1.4 for a .. great deal here. Will let you know how I feel about it now, a few software versions later.. haha. It's funny how I sold my XP1 for roughly $1900 a few months ago here, and now the prices..

So the saga continues, if I could, i'd get another M8, preferably M8.2 but i'm hoping M9's will come down soon enough!

It already has come down, it's called the M-M! That is why I and many other M9 owners were most unhappy with Leica as they overnight killed the value of our cameras. The M-M was introduced at the price point of the second hand/trade-in value forcing a big loss on myself and other former M9 owners. The M-M is just an M9 with one difference, the grey paint finish in place of the black or silver finish of the M9 — thanks a bunch Leica. I ended up losing around a £1,000 on the trade-in value overnight.
 
Funny how we all tred differing paths...

I was (and still have - but rarely use) 5DII,
Then bought X100 (usual reasons - weight etc..),
Loved the limitations/liberation of the 35mm fixed lens and iso performance, but somehow felt something was missing...
Bought an M8.2 - and have not put it down!

I will continue to keep the 5DII (it has its strengths - low light telephoto/macro/zoom/autofocus - body will depreciate but lenses should retain value), and the X100 (iso capabilities, light, good for places neither the Canon or Leica can go - and probably not worth a great deal with the impending release of X100s).

I can see my love of the Leica develop to either a second hand M9-P or the M-E.

But for now happy with the M8.2!

Leica has been doing great job to protect their customers investment, increasing their retail price gradually. The question is how long they can keep this unhealthy marketing scheme. There are too much speculation among Leica users, and they do think it'll last forever...
 
I had an M9 & have the X-Pro1. Sold my M9 as a downpayment on the forthcoming new M (240). I got the X-Pro1, & before that a D700, primarily for high ISO performance. I like the X-Pro1 & prefer it, when possible, to my D700 because it's smaller/lighter & more stripped-down, but much prefer optical RF focusing to autofocus (in the same way I prefer my film Ms to my G2, & both to SLRs).

In the low light conditions where I like to shoot digital, however, both the X-Pro1 & D700 often have problems focusing. This is the opposite problem of when I had the M9, & the M8 before it, when I could focus fine, but the sensors couldn't perform to contemporary standards. I'm hoping the new M will resolve this conundrum & I can live happily ever after . . .
 
I have M8 and X-E1, I use Leica more, Fuji is good for evening time or indoor, but M8 produce much better images at base iso than Fuji. M9 is sold, M8 is a better camera.
