I am a very visual person, I learn by seeing and doing. I recently picked up an Epson 4990 scanner and I would love to start putting it to use for my slides and negs (35 and 120). If anyone in New York would like to make a few bucks over the holidays, I'd love to get a primer.

Cheers,

thanks icebear,

This may make it sound like i am learning challenged (and perhaps I am 😱). I already have Vuescan (bought it a few years ago), I have gone through the help files as well as downloaded the tutorial someone else created, but somehow I have a major blockage with scanning which is why I'd like to watch someone. Once I have a base, I will pick it up and develop my own process. I just need the initial push. I also gone through the scantips website and published book, but 😱...

I've got a 4990 and live in Brooklyn. I wouldn't want any money but I'd be happy to show you how I scan. I don't claim to be an expert but I've been doing it for a while and I like my results. I'm around the next few days and then I'm gone from the 19th to the 27th and am around that week till New Years.

Send me a PM if you're interested and maybe we can work out a time that works for us both.
