Anybody need/want a Gmail acct?

I have given invites to all of my friends and family who want one and I have a bunch still.

Sorry, should've explained better.
Gmail is a free email account from Google. By invitation so far.
What I like about it is the free part and that I get a large(and increasing) amount of storage space[2474 Mb now].
I also can search my mail using the Google search engine.
It just works better for me than either Hotmail or Yahoo.

A few years older than I, but Ronnie James did bring Ritchie Blackmoore's Rainbow to play in the Highschool gym one summer night long ago!
I see him around town occasionally at holiday times. Rock Stars have big egos and he's no exception.
But it's nice he hobnobs with us little people from time to time.
As I'm a smarta@@, I once asked him where I could get decent strings for my instrument. His response was something like "just use whatever Harrington's(local music store)has; they'll be good enough for some one like you."
My reply was" but I have the best air-guitar made, so I want the best strings for it."
His buddies laughed, but RJ was NOT amused.
I sure was, though.

I suppose they might, but I won't commit any thing to email(or paper for that matter)that I wouldn't say to someone's face so I'm not too worried.

I do share your concern, and I've watched for any suspicious telltale items. The worst I've seen is that spam banner ads related to keywords in the message will appear. I've watched for any spam e-mail that appears to be generated from keywords and such in the messages I send or receive and I haven't found any. Most of the spam I get is just the same old doodoo over and over.

If you use Google Groups for reading Usenet you'll see the same thing.

There is speculation that Google is attempting to generate some kind of "tree" of people who know each other, thus the invite structure. Also, you can't seem to be able to get a Gmail account unless you have some other kind of working e-mail already, thus another set of links.

if in the unlikely event either of these two guys run out. i have 50 invites just waiting to be used.

if you have a mac, gmail works seamlessly with apple's mail program, and i really dont want to use any other email server anymore, its really quite nice, and it controls spam mail exceptionally well.

I have the gmail thing for some time now and I'm thrilled. I can work my emails from anywhere since I don't download them anymore. All history is available from anywhere. Big mails too. Upto 10MB per single email!!
Needless to say you can pm me too for invites.
Included is a almost 100% foolproof and checkable spamfilter. Just well made.
