Thinking of recovering my ZI. Any recommendations? Anybody done this?

Totally necessary and very easy to do with cameraleather's kit. Given the hot, humid climate, I opted for griptac, and requested an extra swatch to place on the upper right side of the back (under the film advance) for extra thumb grip power.

Why, Akiva? The ZI I bought from you is still in perfect condition
I see no need to recover it.
Anyway, post some pics when you have it recovered.
Cheers,
Marc

The other option is Aki Asahi of Japan. I've bought several camera recover kits from him. He often sends a freebee along. A while ago I ordered the standard black cover for an RTS, the only choice given by his website for this camera. Along with what I ordered, he sent along a black and white snakeskin for this camera. This is what my RTS is wearing now.

After about a year of almost daily use the original covering was wearing in certain spots, sort of smoothing out and becoming slippy, I recovered and used griptac from camera leather recently and love the feel. Very easy to apply and a must to use in the HOT HUMID hOustOn teXas. I purchased extra and covered the ZI side grip attachment for a bit of extra Grip, used another piece on the shoulder strap of my bag so it never slips off my shoulder again...

OK folks.. If you have recovered your ZI for more bling, how about showing us the results?
