A couple of weeks ago there was a thread concerning the use of a 2.0 mb SD card on the R-D1. The jist of it was, although Epson said it won't work, some of us were able to get good results with certain cards. The thread sort of died out before any really definitive results were posted. I've been using 1.0mb Sandisk Ultra II cards up to now with 100% reliability. Has anyone had any luck with the 2.0mb model?

I would be interested in the answer to that question as as I nearly bought a 2.0Gig card for my Epson, but was not sure about its compatability.
Anyones experince/advice?

You were getting good results then. Has everything been 100% since?

I've been using a corsair 60x 2G card with no issues.

I'm using the 2 gig sandisk Ultra II.
I've deleted files on the Mac and it works fine (when I remember to empty the trash). I quick-formatted in the camera and that works also.
I've been reluctant to full-format in camera because that may change the file system format such that it won't work any more...(not sure what the diff is between quick and full format for the R-D1). there was a thread somewhere on formatting in computer to keep the 32 bit file system....

I seem to remember this as well but i format mine (2GB Transcend 150x) in my Macs (G3 & G4, OS 9.2) and in the R-D1 without any problem so far.
Best,

I had no problem with my 2GB cards (Ridata). I format them in the camera.

I want to full format in the camera just like I do other cards. I don't want to treat a 2.0 gb card with kid gloves.
I started to use Sandisks new Ultra II "PLUS" card. The cool feature if it is, by folding it over, you I can insert it directly into my computer. In other words, I don't need a card reader! This really works. And it is fast, 3 min for a 100-10mb pictures (a full card).
I want to buy their new Ultra II Plus 2.00GB card but it will be a pricey experiment if it doesn't work. I use a windows operating system computer, if that could make any difference.
Anybody else have experience with the "Plus" cards?
Thanks
