Anyone ever taken a photo class?

Photography in HS ( a long time ago), and a number of workshops in the past few years. Most of the workshops on alternative processes but some others too. I take them for the camaraderie as much as the knowledge and experience. We have a great resource in Cleveland.. the Cleveland Print Room, that always has something going on.

PS: for those in the UK, it's worth considering a master's degree in photography, if that's your kind of thing. MA degrees are very good value here - mine cost £4000 in total (compared with nearly £30,000 for a BA). That was at Brighton Uni, on one of the top photography courses in the country.

You don't need a first degree, or indeed any qualifications, to be accepted. But you do need to convince the uni that you are a technically proficient photographer with a very good eye, and can write essays.

(The reason degrees are cheap in the UK ($6000 vs $60,000 in America) is because our government subsidises them, and universities aren't out to maximise profits (foreign students aren't subsidised, and the full price is $30,000 - still half the typical US cost).)
