Anyone ever use Cargo Collective?

I've been looking to setup a website for a little while now. I was looking at squarespace but a friend of mine told me about cargo collective. He is an architecture student and has is website on there. His seemed okay but not exactly what I want for a photo website. But the price was a lot cheaper than squarespace, $60/yr as opposed to $200/yr.

Just wondering if anyone has ever used it for a photo website and how customizable and easy to use it is.

I do but I'm not so familiar with exploring these different website formats. So far I like it and it fits my needs as a simple/sleek online portfolio.

I found Cargo quite limited, as the server was bait on the slow side here in Portugal, and you can't add a custom domain and access the HTML unless you pay a lot.. I decided to buy my own server and do a website based on koken: http://www.koken.me

Nice websites guys. I like the clean looks. I'm might give cargo collective a little trial and see what I like.

I've used cargo for three or four years. I've been paying for it for 1.5 years. It's an incredible free platform - I'm still not sure if the upgrade is worth the $$ compared to other stuff, but I have been pretty happy with it. In the future I will definitely try indexhibit, but I don't have the time for that right now.

I've been using Cargo for about two years now, and I am very pleased with it. It's super easy to upload and organise new sets, and to customize the site in the settings.

One note about Cargo: I don't believe any of their templates are currently responsive. That's a big negative IMO. But you would have to confirm that.

Another option (similar to Squarespace) is 4ormat

I use Cargo, and I have to admit it's the nicest freely available portfolio site I've come across.

Very easy to use and update, and pretty clean to view as well
