Somebody in Portugal is selling three f/1.5, 5.8 cm Sonnars in LTM:

I found the background info quite detailed. Nonetheless not a single serial number is consistent with the records kept by Carl Zeiss Jena.

1) Does anyone believe they have something to do with Zeiss?

2) Any confirmed info that Sonnars in LTM have been legally built by other manufacturers?

3) Anybody willing to pay as much as that? (I'm not... reminds me of the "super rare" arsenall prototypes in the "buy now" category)

I 've seen those and the prices steered me away. I was also quite skeptical about their authenticity. Buying from arsenall can only be explained as an act of desperation.

These could be three beautiful copies of Zeiss lenses. Why pay more than $75 per lens? Beats me.

Guys, for what it's worth; I recently bought a contax to leica m adapter from this seller, telemetro, for a price less than the usual vender in Hong Kong. (If fact, this one originally came from HK) The adapter arrived in 3 days and works as it should.
Putting aside the issue of the price of the lenses, with 590 positive transactions and no negatives, it's possible that he knows what he's talking about.

If I had the money I may go for it and take the chance, after confirming with Zeiss experts and sending them photos of the three lenses to look at.
