Coldkennels
Barnack-toting Brit.
So, the Leningrad finally arrived. It took one month to get from NYC to the UK - but, shockingly, according to the tracking information, it took SEVEN DAYS to go from NYC to Jersey City. USPS really are ridiculously bad.
Anyway, the lenses it came with are nothing short of immaculate, and the shutter fires smoothly (even if I'm not sure of accuracy yet). And overall, I'm very pleased with the camera. It's odd, but it feels nice to hold, and the VF/RF is certainly very clear.
But, as the topic implies, there is a catch.
RF alignment was way off. Nothing surprising there until I went to adjust it, and found the adjustment screw was nowhere to be seen. I removed the top, and sure enough, it's gone. Not even floating around loose somewhere, just gone.
Looking at the mechanism, it obviously deviates quite a bit from the standard Fed/Zorki models, but it looks like it might take the same adjustment screw. As I'm devoid of "parts" cameras, would anyone happen to have a spare one they wouldn't mind sending me? I've already contacted the seller (a camera shop in Merrick, NY), but I somehow doubt they'll have a suitable screw lying around, and it'd be a real shame to not use this beast of a camera!
