Anyone have an old mechanical Bronica?

S2a, ten lenses, five backs and other odds and ends. In the last few years I find I use it most when I'm traveling and won't have enough photography time to justify bringing a large format camera.

We seem to be on all the same boards: APUG, RFF, The Bronica Group ... are you on the Classic Camera Repair forum, too? ;)
 
Who CLA's Bronicas? The reason I ask is that I'm in the hunt for one over on that large auction site.
 
Frank Marshman (Camera Wiz) 1-800-471-8133 and Koh's Camera (www.kohscamera.com) both work on classic Bronicas. I usually use Frank Marshman, but I haven't tried Koh's. Frank also does great work on other mechanical cameras, can come up with innovative solutions (he made me a Canon FD-Bronica bayonet mount adapter for macro lenses), can fabricate parts if needed, and won't charge for things he can't fix, even if he's opened them up, in my experience.

I heart my GS-1. Does that count? :) It's never let me down except when the shutter release button popped off while I was at a construction site, never to be found again. I push a nice little flathead screw to snap photos now.. heck, it looks like it belongs there! Anyway, I take sanctuary with 6x7 negs when I get frustrated with the size of 35mm. It's heaven!
 
Just picked up an S2A a couple of months ago. Love it! Thought about a Hasselblad but just couldn't resist the price of the Bronica. I am really liking the Nikkor lenses. I may pick up a cheap 500c/m and Planar just to compare at some point.

Here is a question for those of you who have the Nikkor 40mm f4. Where do you find 90mm filters? There don't seem to be any out there. I'm thinking of having the guys at SK Grimes make me a 95mm to 90mm step down ring so that I can use the more commonly available 95mm filters.
 
A SQa, at one time my most favorite camera. Just don't shoot it at all now, the little time I have for shooting usually involves the 4x5. Tried to sell it off recently. Sold some pieces but couldn't sell everything. Ended up winning a 80mm lens yesterday, so it looks like it's staying home.

Consider going to a filter system if you're going to be using filtration on the big lenses much. Cokin makes one.

It's very hard to find 90mm filters for the 40/4.0. I only have a light yellow. A custom step-up ring to 95mm or 105mm is probably the best option.

Otherwise, I've used 4" square filters taped to the lens with a little gaffer's tape. I think I've managed to use a 4" square Lee Gel-Snap without vignetting, even though the mask is 86mm.

Even if you want to use a square filter system, none of them have 90x1mm adapter rings, so you need to get a custom adapter or step-up ring.
