Hi, I have an old canon F1 and the aperture needle seems to be missing. After trying multiple fixes and opening it up to have a look myself I thought to have an ask on here to see if anyone had fixes or even a possible replacement needle? Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

It's been awhile since I've removed the top cover of mine, but IIRC, that part is driven by a system of strings and pulleys, and if the string is either broken or mis-routed, the aperture indicator could be hidden from view. But that part isn't otherwise likely to just disappear.

But OTOH, the parts which can be lost include the shutter speed indicator, and the meter window (little rectangular cutout is visible when prism finder is removed) which are a couple of small bits of celluloid, held in place by old adhesive.

So the IIRC and OTOH are all fine and working, but it seems the actual needle itself is missing somehow. Do you know how the aperture needle is connected to its mechanism?

This may help. The needle is circled in red. It's attached to something inside of the round meter module. I can't see what.

This should help. From a Camera Craftsman article on the F-1. You're talking about the pointer control lever.
