about all i was going to say was exactly what you seem to have found out.
i havnt had any personel experiance with them and i dont seem to have any info on them except that it looked just like the Canon A35 F and was possibly a japenese sold product to what market i can only guess.
so if you needed parts or instructions then one of them may be an option. it looks to have been the last metal rangefinder produced by Canon. and it has what appears to be the same date system from the 1974 Datematic that possibly started with the Canodate E back in 1970
it may have AE exposure by the looks (or EE auto) and speeds up around 1/800 or 1/1000
