anyone making money with photography?

Got any photos from that shoot to share with us Todd? ;)
My interest is purely..from a photographical perspective..

My most interesting job was a pregnant nude. I had done this couple's wedding previously, and have subsequently done family photos.

One of the things I find interesting about people photography is being allowed to enter into people's lives in a way more intimate than would normally be afforded a stranger. It is similar to being a doctor. They are both privaledged roles.

I've never done much formal portrait work because I never felt I was well suited to the task. But I've done a lot of environmental portraits which is more like editorial work to me. And your statement above is so true in that aspect. I've never really thought of it being invited into their lives, but thats exactly what it was.

Doing an environmental portrait, I might send an entire day with a client ,on their sail boat or other hobby or interest for example, taking images in an attempt to capture thier 'persona'. Spending that much time with someone, and that close to them, you do indeed build a relationship of sorts. Most short lived, but others have fostered a longer term relationship. You are indeed let into their lives.

My wife never attended any of the boudior sessions I've done. And yea, it would be weird for me if she had. She is so secure in our relationship (with good reason) I know it wouldn't affect her in the least. But me, not sure I could focus on the work with her there.
