Anyone still shoot with their SLR's?

I've found the best way to teach women the art of motorcycle management is to start them on something quite small. Yamaha Serow XT225, Hodaka 100cc Road Toad. Suzuki Savage. And, of course, to make sure the seat height is low enough so that their heels can rest easily on the pavement.

Hoo-Boy, that will get you tapped lightly in the face with a shovel around these parts!

My wife wants a H-D Sportster for her birthday. I just want a decent road bike with quiet pipes. She's the big-bike lover in our family.

Best Regards,

She seemed enthralled by my motorcycle adventures and understandably did not want to spend hours as a passenger; a bike for her seemed like the next step. I think she really decided she wasn't cut out for extending touring. It's sort of like duck hunting: the stories sound great, but actually sitting in the blind in sub-zero weather with frozen extemities drinking cold coffee and eating stale sandwiches, well...it's an acquired taste and not for everybody.

Starting out on a small bike is a good thing (for men and women). There is a lot to get used to. I started out, in 1961 at age 17, on a 50cc Honda Super Cub. Over the years the bikes kept getting bigger but it was nice learning on something easy to handle. Now I have a 1982 BMW R100RS.

Well, I do have a few other reflex cameras.........

I have two Pentacon 6TL's converted to EX66MK3 by the factory, an Exakta 66 MK2, a Kiev 60, and a Hartblei 1006m that takes Blad backs. And Rob Beimer, I have a real B&W Cobra-skin covered Kiev 6c courtesy of cameraleather.com .

Also have 2- Hasselblad 500CM's, and an ELM. Also two Plaubel 6x9 Makiflexes, those are very interesting. And I have a reflex viewfinder for my Sinar Norma 4x5, does that count??

Love to see photo(s) of that beastie! The "leather" on one of my Kiev 4 cameras is just starting to lift at one corner so I've been looking at the cameraleather site for some thing to replace it with. The Cobra-skin is on the short list as well as the Red Ring-mark Lizard and the Sea-Green lizard... 🙄

Rob,
I recommend the Ring-Necked Lizard. Four of my black Minolta SRT's have that, it's pretty cool. Also have Green Kangaroo on my chrome Minolta SRT100 (just got that one, my first -real-SLR, clean as can be, like new).

Very nice, Dan! And nice to see/read you again! Haven't been to the Kiev Report in awhile, it got abit,hmm..., high strung for me and I was getting abit like that myself.
RFF is much mellower. And certainly seems like a broader range of gear heads too.
Soon as I decide on the new leather, I'll post some digicrap shots.

I just picked up the Nikon F-100 and a Nikon 28-105 AF to go with it. However, I love my other ten manual focus Nikons and my arsenal of manual focus glass.
