New York Anyone use Nippon Photo Clinic in New York recently?

Do they do a good job on older cameras (as some, but not all, Google reviews suggest)? I need to have a Rolleiflex and a Voigtlander Superb repaired/serviced, and I would prefer to deal with a repair place face-to-face rather than shipping the cameras elsewhere. As long as they do a good job, of course.

They did a great job on my Fuji GW680 a year or so ago. Just give them a call and they will confirm whether they can handle your cameras.

They are the Authorized Repair for Linhof. I had my baby Tech IV serviced and overhauled last year. About $400.00. The camera took over a month which is unusual for Nippon because usually it is a one week turnaround. The Linhof was factory fresh when I got it back.

For a Rollieflex I would wait the usual 12 weeks and ship it to Harry Fleenor. Harry is not inexpensive either, but for Rollieflex I think he is the best.

I have used Nippon for Nikon SLR, Fujica Texas Leica's, and for Leica rangefinders. Always good service over the years.

If you have that Fleenor sticker inside that Rollie it means a lot if you ever sell the camera. Harry has a great reputation that IMHO has "value added." Worth the wait IMHO.

BTW I had my 3.5F Whiteface serviced by Harry about 6-7 years ago. I still have to advance the film to see if the shutter fired because it is that quiet. Still smooth even though last summer I was locked into clipless pedals with Joe shooting in Blissville, and I crashed the working meter that is now broken.

I was not moving, and my crash was really only loosing my balance because I was locked into my pedals and could not release my feet in time.

I had thought I messed up the camera because the focus was binding, but at home I discovered that the concentric meter housing was no longer concentric due to the impact and was causing binding. Also it seemed that the film transport was wonky after the fall when I reloaded. It seems the other films I shot post fall came out great after my fall, and the film transport issue went away.

Too bad I lost the meter because it was accurate.

I've had simple things such as lubing a lens cost more than the lens was worth...
