Many years ago, on the innenet, there was one of those lens comparisons and the 40 1.8 came in second (forgot which tests) to the Leica 50mm.

I had an FT-1 through my Navy years and a few years after. Lost it about 10 years ago when I left it in a hotel.
Bummer.
It had a nice feel to it.

I'm not looking to amass a bunch of lenses for this one, but earlier in the thread I mentioned that a 80 or 85 would be nice, and wondered if there had been one for it ( my fav. portrait lens on a r/f ) - googled around a bit, but did'nt come up with any info! some one must know?I had an FT-1 through my Navy years and a few years after. I was even cheaper then than now...never allowed myself an actual Konica lens.
They did make an 85mm f1.8 as I recall.
