So Joe what is your problem with it?
For me....
Not the best implementation... What I don't like is not being able to set min shutter speed in the same way as the current x100 implantation. For instance If shutter speed is set to 1/125 autoiso will go to max Iso before starting to bring shutter speed down...
The xpro1 has the same problem. The SW upgrade for this feature from x100 hasnever made it into xpro1 yet. Instead it uses simple 1/lens-length style formula... For me.. I need higher shutter speed then what is being used as default shutter speed... I like to keep my shutter speed at 1/250 as long as possible for all my hand held shots.
So I ended up using the jsrock suggestion of going full manual and letting autoiso handle the rest. Sony rx100 does not allow this approach in full manual...
With the rx100 I tend to use autoiso until I c shutter speed is not what I want then I go to fix iso value.

If u half press the shutter button u can c what iso the camera is going to use.
In the setup menu u can setup the min. and the max iso for autoiso...
Not sure if this is enough to get u around what u don't like about autoiso..
