AP Story: Wounded Photographer

Wow, great story. I really wish there were some pictures in that article.

On a positive note, at least his Leica has a war story :-D!

Makes a nice read, especialy with Apocalypse Now running in the background.

derevaun, if possible can you relay our best wishes? From what I've read about the pictures I can't wait to see them.
And hopefully his citizen status gets resolved, soon. He served for what he feels as his country and from the reports we read he did a great job. Somebody who is prepared to give his live for a country and its people is a good citizen, no matter what passport he carries!

They moved away recently, but I'll see about it. I only knew him as a dad--his photography was news to me too 🙂 A local station did a TV spot on him; same story but they show some more of his shots, which are excellent. If you don't mind registering (it's free) to see the video, here's a link to a page that links to the video (the story title is "Army photographer's dream delayed"):

derevaun - if you do run across him, add my best wishes. Immigration red tape can be unbelieveable, almost stupid, at times. He just needs to keep plugging away at it. If he hasn't already, he should try to get his chain of command to help. If all else fails, tell him to contact whoever will be his representative or state senator. If is wife is a citizen she can contact hers. It sounds like the right person in immigration just hasn't heard of this yet.
