As a fairly new user of Aperture, I've been finding that if I import a TIFF file from a scan, Aperture seems to like to convert it to a JPG. Here's the workflow...
1) Scan film with Coolscan V using Vuescan
2) Save as .tif
3) Import into Aperture
4) If I drag the file from the Aperture library into Photoshop CS7, it shows up as a .jpg.
So the question is, is there a button somewhere that I should be pushing in Aperture preferences (or some other such place) to prevent the conversion to jpg? Otherwise, I love Aperture. It doesn't have any of the issues that others have reported. It runs smoothly and quickly and gives me certain controls that are difficult in PS.
