On the iMac: I can get the adjustments in iPhoto to work just fine; but try as I might, they stay grayed out in Aperture. I think I've clicked on everything. Reading the instructions in the Help section doesn't seem to mention this. I'm loading both JPEG and RAW files. It downloads the RAW files just fine, but that's as far as it goes.
Another thing: the thumbnails won't display. I get empty dotted line boxes. I can click on them and bring up the picture in the viewer, but there's no image in the thumbnail.
I think these two problems are related. I'm guessing that the Adjustments pane won't come alive because it doesn't know there's a picture to work on; which in turn could be because of the empty thumbnails--even though the picture does display in the viewer. Evidently it's not really "there." But where is it, and where should it be? :bang:
Obviously I don't know what I'm doing. Any suggestions?

The instructor at the Apple store solved this in about three minutes. She just did an online update. I'll just pass that along in case anyone else runs into this.
