Appalachian Trail with an un-rangefinder.

I met Dave Lackey at the Vortex in Atlanta, after my 4 day hike on the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina. I didn't have a rangefinder camera with me, opting instead for a little Canon P&S digital, but Dave suggested I post some pictures anyway.

D**n... I'm completely envious! Nothing better than a good long walk in beautiful country. Thanks for posting these lovely images.
 
Looks startlingly like Lancashire ! If I saw the pics without a title, I'd never have guessed correctly where they were taken :eek:

I like all the misty shots, and also the one of the tent. I think the tent one is one you can look back on in years to come and it'll remind you of your trip.
 
One thing the pictures don't show is the elevation change - A total of about 3200 feet up and 800 feet down the first day. But the mist was only on the first day - 10 minutes of rain, 5 minutes of sun and 3 hours of mist.
