The lens you show is very desirable, IMHO. It's also tiny, and combined with one of the smaller Canon RF's, it makes a practical pocket shooter.gtramctram said:

I just saw an exact duplicate of what I pictured earlier in the thread. A "Buy It Now" on Ebay that went for $450. I guess some one couldn't live without it. Isn't that a bit high? I intend to sell mine and have been researching prices but that surprised me.

I'd been keeping my eye out for a 28mm Nikkor when I found a deal on a mint Canon 28mm f2.8 for my III. I like it. Wide open mine is plenty sharp on center with softer sides and some light fall off. By f5.6 things are plenty sharp across the frame, but then I'm not working for NASA or the CIA reading license plates. Can't beat the size.

Great picture mike!! I've always loved this type of large aquarium and they can be quite a hassle to photograph. This one turned out well indeed.

These has been a good discussion on Canon 28mm 3.5 & 2.8 LTM lenses. Thank you, it is the first link that comes after Googling the Canons. Having the Leica 28/2.8 ASPH, I found it to be a phenomenal lens, very sharp with very high contrast. I wanted to have a lens with moderate contrast for use in black and white and some OLD school feeling color. So, I started asking in this forum and found these two lenses. I just got the most beautiful pieces of art I have ever seen: The Canon Serenar 28/2.8 LTM and the Canon 28/2.8 LTM. They came from Japan and are in excellent condition. Most impressive is the size of these lenses and their weight, relative to their size. I plan to explore and shoot with these two lenses and post some of the shots here. It will show the lenses' behavior on the Leica M8 and M9 cameras. I personally, like them both. Here are some shots:

Never owned or shot images with the Canon 28mm f3.5 but have been using the "Winogrand" Canon 28mm f2.8 for a little over a year now. It has a unique rendering, lower contrast, but it's tack sharp even wide open in the center of the image.
