Hello - first time posting, but often browse the forums. I have the opportunity to pick up three lenses, but first wanted to be sure they would be compatible with my rangefinder - Olive Bessa R2M.

The 3 lenses are:
Skoparex f3.4 35 mm
Septon f2. 50 mm
Super-Dynarex f4 135 mm

If they fit, would they meter (I'm guessing not).

Any input/information you could provide would be awesome. Thank you!

Welcome Joe, thanks for trusting the collective knowledge of RFF.

Any M or LTM (with a couple asterisk regarding FSU lenses and very very early lenses for the Canon RFs) will work fine on your R2M.

I will bow to others expertise, but I am not aware that these lenses were made in either LTM or M mount.

Welcome to RFF.

Thats a good question, I own a Bessa r3a and don't even have clue what other lenses are useable on it..

I only know that all lenses saying M mount will fit.

What ar LTM lenses?

Are there other good options? Or even with converters or someting?

LTM= Leica Thread Mount

This was the standard leica lens mount prior to 1954. LTM lenses were made also by Canon, Nikon notably, as well as many other smaller manufacturers, and in small numbers by Zeiss. Perhaps the largest manufacturers of LTM lenses over time have been from the Soviet Union. The vast majority (most that you will find) are compatible with M mount cameras through the use of an adaptor.

Also notable, many modern Cosina Voigtlander lenses are LTM mount so that they could be used on LTM and M cameras.

What Erikhaugsby said... these lenses have their own bayonet mount which means they can only be used on the Bessamatic or Ultramatic cameras from the 1950's (Not the modern Bessamatic made by Cosina)

On the auction site you can sometimes find adapters that allow for these lenses to be mounted on a SLR, however these are around £85.

There are also a range of Voigtlander lenses - Skoparet, Dynaret, Super Dynaret - these were made for the Voigtlander Vitessa T.

None of these lenses fit directly on a modern Cosina Voigtlander Bessa - I am not aware of any adaptors. However I would be interested if one was available!

The 35mm and 135mm were also made in M42 mount for the Icarex 35S. These versions could be used with an M42-LTM/M adapter on the R2M and the meter will work. But you can't use the rangefinder. Just more trouble than its worth.
