Mine was shipped today!!!
Mine too!
I called Precision Camera yesterday and they had no word on when the black bodies would arrive, and then I saw the note on 43rumors about them being in stock at Adorama and though they sometimes have things listed in stock that aren't really in stock, I thought I'd give it a whirl. It worked! I cancelled my order with Precision, only to have them tell me it was in and would have shipped...so my impatience meant paying the Empire State it's due.
I chose the 43/m43 adapter as my freebie. Not really sure why. Didn't want the flash or OM adapter, thought I might get a 14-54mm II lens, dunno. Also picked up a Panny 20...funny, they sell on ebay used for the same price as they sell new. I'm going to compare the 20, which I owned before and loved, with the lux 25/1.4. Maybe keep one, maybe sell the lux and bite the bullet on the Nockon .95 if I'm really missing razor thin DOF. Bought the 14/2.5 today...at under $200 who can refuse another pancake?
I have a kit lens that I got with my E-PL3 (which is now on the block) and will play with that...it's actually quite sharp and weighs NOTHING. When I get my contax g 45 converted to Leica M back from the shop, I'll also try that and then think about the Olympus 45 for AF.
I'm actually really excited for the E-M5. I don't think it's the prettiest camera around...it's a bit heavy in the turban for me, but it sounds like function wise it's all I need and more. I compared the high iso raws in dpreview to cameras with great performance like the A580, 5n, K-5, all with the magic 16mp sony sensor, and honestly the E-M5 compares very well through 3200 (actually I can't tell a difference) and not terribly worse at 6400. In some cases it seems to resolve more detail. That should be fine.
So I'm psyched and haven't felt this much anticipation for any camera in a while. Olympus hasn't wowed me since the E-1, though I liked the E-5 and E-P1.
Anyway, the quicker I got to sleep, the quicker it will get here!
