Very tempted! This is a much prettier camera than the X100 or X-Pro IMO (won't even mention that damned Pentax) and although it doesn't have the attraction of the Fuji's optical finder it has something else that sets it aside from the bunch ... style I think they call it.

If the image quality is up there I couldn't care less about the sensor size provided the lenses are matched to the sensor's output. 🙂

Pretty? It's ugly. The prism housing, for the prism it doesn't have, looks bigger than my film OMs. I'll be sticking with Fuji.

Same here. More overpriced small sensor amateur crap. Olympus OM gear (the real OM gear, the kind that used OM lenses) was my intro to serious photography when I was 11 years old. When they dropped the OM-4T instead of moving the system forward in the 1990s, they lost me as a customer. I still shoot my old gear, but when I went digital, I went to Nikon and later to Canon. Not looking back.

It's very pretty, but digital is not for me, if it was, then I'm not sure m43 is the way I'd want to go, too big a crop factor on M lenses.

The 5-axis in body image stabilization sounds pretty exciting. I'd love to see it in a larger format sensor, like an APS-C. I think Leica should do something similar.

As far as the OM-D is concerned, no. It looks great and all but I prefer Ricoh for my digital photo needs. The GXR M is my jam.

I'm getting one. In my bag small-sensored "amateur" m43 crap lives very comfortably alongside my full-framed "professional" crap and medium format film crap. I find m43 quite capable and if there's a camera that's always with me I say it's one of the Olympuses...

Maybe. I want to see and feel it for myself and see how it performs at 3200 and 6400.

I'd be weighing OM-D, 12/2 and 25/1.4 vs X Pro 1, 18/2 and 35/1.4

m43 kit is definitely cheaper, probably superior AF, maybe superior EVF
XP1 will probably perform better at high ISOs, I like the slightly larger size, I like the viewfinder on the left-hand side and the OVF is a nice option to have

I quite like it but... I have all the digital I want for now and I have got quite bored of using it. I have an EP1 and its a good camera for reasonable sized enlargements, I like it and am sure if given one I would use the new one. But I am doing all my serious work on film now, it is giving me what I want/see so money will be spent on film and paper etc.

To answer the first questions
1. Don't know how good/bad this camera is yet
2. Combination of what is presented is swaying me
3. Depends on how the evf/ibis/splashproof is implemented, but I am keeping optimistic
4. Understanding that there is no such thing as a dream camera I am perfectly content with this m43 iteration

Was always looking for an acceptable alternative to a large dslr. I get fairly sick of carrying one around especially with flash and even just one other lens, takes up my entire bag.

I was pretty excited looking at the nex7 as well as the xpro1. At the end of the day (today at least), I placed a preorder for the e-m5 just because the features (to me) are fairly polarized in comparison to my current dslr. These features such as big fast lens vs small fast lens or scared to touch water vs splash away.

Dislike the whole sensor size talk. I've been out with a gf1 here and there with the 20 1.7 and I was generally pleased with the performance. Maybe I don't fully understand people's complaints.

What is your problem that you feel the need to put down whatever doesn't personally interest you?

The amateurs out there are what keeps photography alive and keeps the companies that actually make the pro gear in business ... get of your friggin' high horse!

As I understand it, 'the fake prism' is useful space - the new IS system and EVF take up too much room in the body without the hump.

It isn't sufficiently better than my Panasonic G3 to buy the new Olympus. However, the Fuji X-Pro 1 does seem like a significant advance. I pre-ordered one.
