Valdemar,

Unfortunately, even if I follow your advice, my babies will always come back with green eyes. But if you insist, you can always send your wife over here... so I can get a baby like yours.

Stop making me laugh! I'm in a crowded computer room :).... And to respond to a comment further down, not ALL babies are cute...sadly...:( You all know what I'm taking about, that family you see in the supermarket that makes you gasp and shield your childrens eyes... Hmmmm, we need an ugly baby thread!!!

Ned, you have such a subtle and delicate manner of communication. (sarcasm)

I hear ya. Isn't this the very definition of a "T" thread?

Besides, who are the Boke Vigilantes? They must be a little different from the Bokeh Vigilantes, who snipe blurred confusion to points of enlightenment around the world.

Apologies in advance for uber-snarky comment:

I have to agree with Athos6. If you want to promote birth control, tell people to go to Sam's Club on Saturday afternoon.

It's an image presented at 72dpi on monitors that vary in their accuracy. (This is NOT a "silly" response.) I'd have to see at least an 11x14inch darkroom print to assess accurately the technical qualities of the image. Content-wise it's a lovely and strong image.

Let's be honest here - it's an ok baby picture, kind of like hundreds or thousands that are taken every day by new fathers who are also photo hobbyists. I'm sorry, but this is nothing special.

As for technical details - looks like a 50mm focal length, not enough foreshortening to be longer. Probably taken at f2, given the depth of field.

/T

I was looking for a "No clue" option, as I only own one of the lenses in the list...

But Clueless person that I am, I voted for the one I own.

you've shown us better pictures of yours, Ned.
Come on. Try harder.
The baby looks lifeless.

Congrats anyway.

Pherdinand, thanks!

This was not a "how cute is my baby" post. Just not my type :)

The pic is a regular picture I get from this lens... and I'm just curious to see what lens people think was used.

Have you voted?

I suspect the real purpose of this is for the photographer to show off his baby and the boobies its lying on. I only wish the original thread was phrased with more consideration to the readership. There's too much anger and egoism displayed...

Ned, of course i didn't vote.
I only have a 90 summicron from that list, and it's an ancient version.
Perspective is the only thing i can judge somewhat, and perspective indicates it is NOT a 75 or 90mm lens what you've used.

On the other hand..life's a lottery.

Anger and egoism? I agree it can sound that way to sensitive people. If you take it lightly, you will have fun, though.

Ah yes, about the baby pic. You really think I'm looking for ways to show baby pics? ROFL! I've been unrightfully called an anti-semit, an egoist and so on. Being called a Baby-Pic showoff is rather refreshing. Don't you think?
If I want to show baby pics I will start a baby pics thread.
