There's a Canon QL17 here for sale in NZ for the "massive" price of $25NZ ($16-17US).
My QL17 has a 45mm/1.7 lens, this one for sale has a 40mm/1.7.
And that's it, my only excuse for wanting this camera is a 5mm difference in focal length.

It's 2am here and I'm not thinking right, so you lot can decide for me.
You've got an hour to vote.

Hey Stu:)

I'm not a betting man neither, but I think you will not get any "no" answers on this poll. Not from RFF members.

NZ$25? Price of a couple of Steinie's....... Hardly worth worrying about, really......

Guess we can expect to see some comparisons between Canonet 40mm f/1.7 and 45mm f/1.7 very soon now. Looking forward to it.

Done.

I guess I will be drinking the cheap local beer <shudder> for the next two weeks.

Do it. Are you sure it's not a 45mm f1.9?

Which one? My current Canonet is a 45mm ƒ1.7 and the one I've just bought is a 40mm ƒ1.7.

Sometime back I thought I was going insane, because everyone else owned 40mm 1.7, but mine was a 45mm 1.7... a quick trip to the Canon Camera Museum sorted that out. Now I'm back to being just wierd again.

I obviously am loosing it. I voted for the M2. No little dinky stuff! Set a goal, keep your eye on the prize!!!

I had both the 40mm f1.7 and the 45mm f1.9. I didn't realize there was a 40mm f1.9! Live and learn. Reading helps too.

The solution was (and is) really simple, Canonet AND M2, what else were you going to bring to shoot at the windy dusty salty sandy beach ?

(I mean the M2, of course :p)

"From now on you'll no longer think, RFF will do it for you".

Go for it! 45mm's is too long. However, I strongly urge you getting a second income to avoid the cheap brew!!!!!
