Well, it's August again, and this year being 2016, that means Argust Day (when you dig your Argus whatever out of wherever you keep it) will be on the 16th of the month. So grab those Bricks and Flexes, and even the SLRs, and load them with your favorite film for one day of photography.

And don't forget to post them here.

I recently got a pair of the Lithagon lenses for the C-4 Geiss, but they are pretty ratty looking. I also recently acquired a CR-1 SLR, and then found an Argus bellows for it. Going for the macro look this year.

So, what day in August will Argust Day be in a year such as 2045? Assuming the zombies haven't eaten all the remaining film by then. Is the day of the month calculated modulo 31 off the last two digits of the year?

Not sure what the Argus Collectors Group has in mind to replace it with, Joe, maybe they will come up with a particular date that signifies something important happening in the world of Argus in August of 2032.

I loaded the C-44 and Cintagon 2.8/50 with Kodak Ektar 100, grabbed the Argus finder with the 4.5/35 and 3.5/100 Cintagon lenses, and headed up to Buchanan, VA.

I had some parallax errors when using the 100mm, mostly from forgetting to set the distance adjustment. I constantly worried about not knocking the shutter setting off the intended speed. The camera handles well, but the aux finder has a severe haze problem on the 35mm setting.

Sorted out, it might be a good user, but the Steinheil 35 and 100mm lenses at present leave much to be desired.

Here are some examples.

Argust 16th in Arizona

I used a 1961 Argus C44R, loaded with Ilford FP4+, developed in HC-110 (D). 7698 is a road in that spoke to me. 7709 is my grand-daughter playing in an airplane my brother built from scrap wood, aluminum, a broken bicycle, & a wheel chair.
