I've been posting a picture every week or so, documenting my evolving relationship with Arista's 100 EDU Ultra film. I used HC-110 for a while, and have decided that It's not for me. I recently began using Rodinal, and like it much better. I'm working on fine-tuning the mix of chemistry, time, agitation, etc...

Today, I used Rodinal 1:100, 68 degrees, 8 minutes, with one single inversion each minute.

Still a little too much density in the negatives, but getting closer. First shot was lighted by window light, shot with my 75mm CV Heliar, second shot outside, natural mid-day light (bright).

Regards!
Don

Very Good Fishtek (Don), you are really squeezing the best out of this stuff. I wonder if you would get the same results with a very dilute HC-110? I liked your 'bulbs' image so much, I mentioned it in this weeks favorites contest. It is under the 'general comments' page.

Thanks, Carter!

Actually, I thought about that, but only diluted HC-110 to the "H" mix. I'll try different permutations with the dilution of the Rodinal once I'm sorta happy with the consistency of the rolls of film. Maybe I'll even build a data base...

See ya!

Don,
GeneW on this site has an interesting HC110 dilution that you might want to try before you give up completely on it, as long as you're experimenting. I can't remember the dilution exactly, but I think it's also a 1:100 dilution.

Don (fishtek), I think I told you I was going to shoot a roll of AEU 400 in both 35mm and 120. I haven't got around to it yet (I have the film I'm just not though it yet) but I will post my results. To start I think I'll just use my regular dilution H for both, if the results are encouraging I'll order some more (one at a time). By the way Don, you and I both get an income raise this year, MediCare.
