Looks like my IIIf has a slight burr or something on the film gate. :bang: I thought that the very faint scratches I was getting on my films were because my technique with the squeegee sucked, but the rolls I developed from my M6 are clean. So it looks like the IIIf will have to come apart, so I may as well just get a full CLA done.

grrrrrrrrrrrr.....

Suppose I should look on it as a good thing, really.

OK, rant over. Where's that coffee?

That sucks man. When I got home from Africa I noticed a scratch across the top of every slide i took after about the first 5 rolls or so. I was more than a little disapointed.

Same thing happened with my photos from Manaus, Brazil. Scratched negs. Sucks! Sorry, man.

Best Regards,

About year ago I started noticing some faint horizontal scratches toward the top of photos taken with the Olympus Stylus. I carefully checked all of the surfaces and found nothing. Just to be sure I wiped all of the film handling surfaces with a q-tip and alcohol and blew them off with a can of air.

On the next roll the scratches seemed worse. :(

Then all of a sudden I realized that one roll I recently shot did not have the scratches. That roll was processed at Wally World, and the ones with the scratches were all done at Target'.

I did let them (Target') know about it, but that was about the time I quit using them due to consistently nasty scans.

Here I was blaming the camera and it was the processing all along.

Good point, dmr. Tim, who's processing your film?

me!

as i said, i'd suspect my crappy technique EXCEPT every roll i do from the IIIf is very faintly scratched and i am yet to see scratches on any of the rolls from the m6.......
