Thank you for all your advice getting me ready for my Rodinal run. As promised, here are the results of my negatives shot with Tri-x @ 200 developed in Rodinal 1:50. If you follow the Leica M page, you'll know that I have had trouble getting pleasing results with my summicron/m6 combo. The negatives I did with pulled tri-x in Rodinal are by far my favourite results. I may stick with this combo. For some reason, D76 with Tri x and my summicron create negatives that are too harsh and contrasty. For some reason, this new combo tamed it all. enjoy.

Thank you sonofdanang, it was a pretty emotional time. I HATE when babies get sick. It is very, very scary. But thank you, I guess any photographers goal is to evoke some type of emotional response.

while buying some Rodinal and Tri-x 20 years ago the clerk said "you know that's what God uses" i said what?, he said "yes tri-x & rodinal thats what God uses everybody knows that" even with the advent of digital I have no reason to think he has changed

Haha. Thank you guys. I think you are right. Heaven must be lined with shelves and shelves of rodinal and tri-x! 36 exposures of course.

I am used to TX+D76. Maybe that is why these look flat to me. Not enough separation of tones for my eyes, but to each their own. I like the 4th one though.

They may look flat because the images are raw scans. I'm not
Too Photoshop savvy, so no adjustments were made. I can't remember the dev time, I'll have to consult my notebook.

Very nice tonal range and grain control.
Beautiful photo's of your family.
I haven't tried rodinal yet, I may buy some when I am getting low on Xtol stock.
I'll have to run a 2 roll test on Legacy Pro 100 next month. Results look close to Xtol 1:1 at 20c

Thank you very much. This is my first time branching out from d76 and I think it's safe to day I like it better. We'll see though, more testing is needed .
