You know, those people you only see on holidays and at funerals. The ones whose names you can't remember and whose relationship you never really understood. Those folks, God love 'em. Well, let me give you an idea on this year's choice for dinner wear on Thanksgiving day.

Thank you Dogman.

I resemble that remark :D

After a lifetime of forced family gatherings, with people that I did not really care for, I relish just being alone on holidays these days.

In the tradition of the First Nations people, Happy Day of Mourning to all !

After years of snarky remarks about my being single, I threatened to wear my pistol to Thanksgiving. Now days, I just go to a Waffle House or Huddle House and avoid my family. I fully understand the remarks about people you don't care for, Austintatious. Amazing how relatives you only see once a year know how to run your life better than you do.....

Love the cheerful tone of this thread ;-) Sure glad Thanksgiving hasn't been exported to my country (yet) - I also wish I could return Valentines Day, Halloween, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Singles Day to sender.

I work the night before and the night of most holidays. My extended family hasn't seen me in years. The pandemic has been the icing on the cake.

Eight of us this year for thanksgiving. My son and his family. Plus two of my wife’s sisters.

Two grand children, 6 & 7 helped. With there help It took at least twice as long to prepare but well worth it.

We hosted. The meal was wonderful. So was the conversation.

Finally something good about getting together. By reading the majority of comments, it sounds like getting together with family is a chore, at best. A lot of dysfunctional families, I guess

We are the only family to get together. No else relatives here.
And our FG is in October.
