asking for advice re attaching UV filters to X100

My $.02 on the original poster's question:

"To Filter or Not To Filter" is one of those eternal questions, along with "Which is better, a 35mm lens or a 50mm lens?"

There is no right answer.

If you're going to worry about image degradation from a good quality UV filter, I recommend taking off the filter, stopping the worrying and getting back to making pictures. For 99 percent of us, including Yours Truly, the quality of our images is far more dependent on our decision-making about the subject and the moment and the lighting and the perspective than it is on the fine points of our equipment.

That said, we're all gearheads here and eternal questions are fair.

Personally, the idea of carrying an expensive lens around without a protective filter on it gives me the heebie-geebies.
