I have a Xpan specific film holder under development that I hope to bring to market in the new year.
I have yet to find a satisfactory scanning solution for my Xpan film so I have decided to create one.
The holder will work on Epson scanners and will be guaranteed to hold film as flat as possible (without using troublesome glass holders).
Mine will be a necessarily very low volume operation but if you are interested in my XpanScan holder, drop me an email and I'll keep you informed of my progress.

I regret to inform all interested parties that due to the unexpected (and potentially deadly) illness of my development partner in the XpanScan project that my plans to market a dedicated Xpan film holder are on hold right now.
I have our final prototype that works perfectly. I get noticably sharper scans on my V750 then with the Epson 35mm holder.
I ask for those of you who are of the praying persuasion that you say a few words for my friend and the rest of us lets send some positive energy.
The XpanScan is not at the end of road. I will find another way to get it made if necessary but I cannot say when.

No good mate, on both parts, your mate & your gizmo - was looking forward to it. I've been an avid reader of this site for a while now, so I thought it's about time I got involved.
My best wishes to your mate.

I use the Lomo Digitiliza 35mm film holder to scan my regular and pano shots. It holds the film flat to the edges via magnets. Sorry it has taken me 11 years to reply...
And thread reincarnated!

I think Hamish Gill's (of www.35mmc.com) new pixl-latr also works for Xpan negatives. It's currently funding on Kickstarter:

Wow...11 year old thread comes back to life.
Anyway, I scan my Xpan negatives with a Plustek OpticFilim 120.

I use a Pakon F335 for under-a-minute whole roll scan and a Flextight for 6300 DPI scans! Expensive but great solutions.
