Bob is correct: less crowded which also means more on time. The 6 Train is the most crowded and most prone to delays.

How many times have you stood on the platform and had trains bypass the station? How many times already crowded trains made you wait for another train?

The "L" service shutdown will be mighty evil.

Yesterday had my storage unit visit that was suppose to be about an hour, but ended up being close to three hours.

It was really odd seeing some of my paintings from the 80's, especially since I haven't looked at them in 5 years.

My feeling is that I'm in and one of the 10 who will be exhibited at the SoHo Manhattan Ministorage. Seems like the date of the opening has been pushed back to October 16th.

I have to wait until the first week in September for notification.

I somehow figured out over the past 4 years I spent about $20K on the Monochrom, computer, printers, and printing supplies to make the B&W prints I am showing off. This does not include the cost of glass that I already had, nor my Nikon DSLR kit.

I read about that L shutdown. If I'm going to NYC and the L is still down it'll have to be a fixie rental.
Or perhaps do a nice walk from another line in touristy mood.

I mostly used 7th and 8th avenue lines and both were quite OK. I was surprised not to get into any overly crowded train (maybe my schedules taking them).

You just reminded me of a funny anecdote on local and expresses. In the 8th ave line (1,2,3) I was going back to the hostel (midtown from 42nd) and three Asian tourists asked me for the train to Penn station.
I encouraged them to wait for the Local 1 and be sure.
There was a 2 stopping and one of them hopped in, convincing the others.
As my 1 train approached Pen station it slowed down, both of our trains were going just about parallel and the same.

But then I saw those guys sitting obvlious as their train passed by Penn 33st and I was in the station they asked me for.

Also this allows flexibility for others to make a choice.

I haven't been to a meet in a while ... last time was Cal's ICP print presentation and I have not been to new ICP Bowery place either. So, I hope you don't mind if I join you at 11:00?

Remember my perch hanging over a wrought iron fence on the Williamsburg Bridge that gives me that iconic panoramic view of the East River?

Well now there is a chain link fence to prevent people from jumping trying to kill themselves. The drop to South 5th Street is about 200 feet. From the Olympics in Rio I learned that a diver from a 35 foot platform dive accelerates to 35 MPH by the time they hit the water.

Well someone must of reported me and the took my shot away. Over the years I have recorded more or less the redevelopment as an extended time lapse. I can no longer lean out to get the bridge Kay-Son out of the shot.

Bring your Leica "Q."

As you know I'm a 25 kinda guy. Also know that Leica makes a very thoughful "Hipster" leather book bag that has a holster that is intergrated into a small bag that can hold an Iphone and IPAD.

I'm also hot on a SL.

It seems like Helen hopes to attend at 11:00.

It seems like I'm encouraged to do Instagram by many to promote myself and my work. Anyways an Iphone is overwelming to a caveman like me. LOL.

Also know that I think if I were a fish that most people would kinda throw me back into the sea so I could grow some more. Last night I stayed out late because of a shoot for Maggie that involved this clothing and shoe designer. I think of myself as a skinny fish that is mostly bones and not a lot of meat. In a way I have a boyish body, but I kinda got offered a modeling gig last night at Maggie's gig.

Also I got accused of having more shoes than a fashion blogger, which is likely true. I am no longer in denial: I am worse than a woman, I now say. LOL.

Anyways life is kinda crazy, but I feel that something big is going to happen. "Crazy is good," I say.

I think using ICP's convenient location is a great way to exploit and continue an interesting conversation that began at the last Meet-Up that involved cell phones as a serious medium, and how Social Media is emerging and becoming more dominant.

I am sure it will be very informative and interesting.

Cal, Instagram is a great way to promote your work.
I post pretty regularly.
And what I found to be the best feature of the service is seeing work from all over the world and making connections that way.
I post my film images on it, and rarely post images taken from my phone on it, haha.

The term "Vintage Hipster" I coined to describe myself.

My gal and I were making fun of me because about 90% of her traffic for her blog comes from mobile devices. Currently she has about 48K followers and it has not yet been two years yet since she first started her blog. I have to stop making fun of all those people texting that annoy me that are so wired because they are all possible fans. I have to stop calling them "clueless," and now I have to be nice to them. LOL.

It seems I have become the Accidental Fashion photographer. Somehow because I am not a fashion photographer people (fans and pros) like my work. If they only knew the truth: I am a lazy slacker and doing a studio shoot with a tethered camera, lights, and a full crew is an over-well-Ming amount of work for me.

Call me a lazy slacker but shooting on the street for me is kinda easy. Regularly for each post that Maggie puts up on Instagram gets 2K-3K likes.

Kinda crazy that in Toronto on East Queen Street we got stopped by a fan of hers that follows her on Instagram. I kid around that I am her on-TOUR-Rodge. LOL.

On the ABC Carpet rooftop gig they actually asked for me as the photographer for an antique carpet promotion.

I should make up a business card: Calvin the Lazy-Slacker. The Leica "Q" could be a great camera for me. 28mm is my most used FOV, but shooting color is odd for me. Basically it is more work and more complicated than B&W.

Anyways the Nikon LS-8000 is an old retro-scanner. So I have about 200K B&W negatives to annoy people with. LOL.

I hate that Instagram is so square based... even if you get it to post 2:3 (which I seem to be able to do for horizontal, but not vertical) it still previews it on the main page as a square. Am I missing something?
 
I use an app called square ready, which allows you to have non square images fit inside the square.
So you can take a vertical image and post it properly on Instagram.
