Watch NBC World News Tonight. Maggie's segment will be aired tonight nationally during prime time. You likely see a cameo of me doing my street/runway shooting in Tribeca with my SL. Also some of my shots will be used.

So "Maggie" was bumped again.

Good thing her feature is an "evergreen" that is used as fill when news is slow.

At this point all I can say is it might be aired tonight.

Oh-well.

Last night Maggie got some invite to a party that has been celebrating the movers and shakers of NYC that has been going on for the past 20 years anually. I'll be tagging along. Seems like I'm an outsider on the inside.

I was doing very well, reducing the collection by 2 cameras, until I replaced them with a 5x7 that has the weight of the two others combined.
While looking for a lens board, I found someone in PA who will laser cut aluminum and stainless steel for 'no money'. The lens boards I had him cut came out really nice, so now I'm coming up with all sorts of accessories to be manufactured. It is a bottomless pit.
Joe, I'm not surprised you like the results from the angulon. They are great lenses. 'Interesting' in the corners, but sharp and contrasty center, and very flare resistant.

I'll be in Mexico for the next meetup. I'll be back for whatever month follows august.
 
So Maggie's feature still has not been aired.

I'm doing lots of testing of different films lately. Christian gifted me two rolls of Ferrainia P30 that I am almost done shooting. I'm going to buy some Bergger chromopan 400 to experiment with. This Bergger film has a dual emulsion. More Rollie 400S in 120 testing before loading the truck up with Rollie 400S in 70mm.

A lot of this testing is due to the expansion of sheet films like 2x3 and 4x5, but also especially 120.

I have a friend in Seattle who has a retail store who I'm sending some prints to display. I think in the future I can do a show in Justin's event space. In the past his commercial space formally was a bank complete with a vault that is in entirety is 6500 square feet. About 2500 square feet are currently retail space so I'm talking about 4000 square feet of event space.

Seems that in Seattle I already have a vast tribe and a support group of creatives after only have spent a week there. I'm looking into these subsidized artist's work spaces. On my trip to Seattle a fashion designer friend of Maggie's took us to two of her friend's studios.

It seems like my decade of shooting the gentrification of NYC is very relevant to Seattle because it is gentrifying and is the fastest growing city in the U.S. I'm still trying to rest up from my Seattle vacation. While we were there we met so many people and made so many new friends in the creative world. Seems like an easy transition.

Got 6 rolls of 35mm Ferrainia P30 sitting on the desk, I also need to test. What developer are people using for this film. I was going to try it with Tetenal Ultrafin.
 
Any one have experince with Zeiss Super Ikonta B's like a 532/16? Been thinking about getting one of these folders.

I have a couple of them. Great folders with fast lenses. The only downside is 5' min focus. Both of mine are electronic flash synced, looks like it was done at the factory. Lenses are 80/2.8 Tessar with front cell focusing. Some might find them softish wide open, but I like it. I don't use them enough, they deserve better.

I shot the two rolls of P30 Christian gave me at 125 ISO. I'm going to dip them in Diafine.

I also have been shooting Kodak 5222 and instead of 250 ISO I shoot it at 400 for about 2/3rds of a stop push. The latitude of the P30 I expect will be like the 5222, meaning wide, and also I expect the tonality to be mucho broad. I'm going with Diafine because the 5222 is outstanding with Diafine. I get meaty/beefy tonality, no vegan thin negatives for me.

I hope to develop my film by the meet-up. I just finished shooting the second roll this morning.

D76 stock is the recommended developer by Ferrania at 80 ISO BTW.

If you want shoot one roll at 125 after I finish my test. I have seasoned Diafine already mixed. My logic is that 5222 and P30 are two Cine films with a silver rich retro look that both respond well to D76 so if I can have a 125 ISO and a 400 ISO what more do I need for 135. Also have been making mucho FP4 negatives with Diafine at 160 ISO. I like FP4 because it is available for 135, 120, 2x3, 6.5x9, 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10.

Yesterday I bought some Ilford DDX to experiment with. I have Delta 3200 in 120, and Delta 400 in 120 to experiment with. I'm doing new films to break out and create some style. Expect some crazy results.

Bought some Bergger Panchro 400 which features a dual deposition of two emulsions. Available in 135, 120, and 4x5. Panchro 400 seems to like Rollie Supergrain which is useful for the Rollie 400S which I just bought another 5 pack. Eventually I'll be doing Rollie 400S in 70mm.

I love the 15 foot 70mm stainless steel reels I have. Crazy good. Definately "Calzone Factor." John would call these reels, "Monsters." Really hard to imagine bigger stainless steel spiral reels. They measure about 7 inches in diameter and it takes two liters of solution to cover just one reel. I have three of them. LOL.

They are cool folders. I own a Zeiss Super Ikonta that is a 645.

For me the thing that limits their performance can be the alignment. Remember it is a folder.

I for one happen to like simple Tessars. I like the rendering.

Pro-Mone,

This film has that old school silver rich look like Kodak 5222. I'm thinking it also has somewhat the wide/broad tonality of a Cine film. Not worried about grain; for small or no grain I have Tri-X and Acros in Diafine.

I'm evolving to do new films motivated by eventually scaling up to 4x5. I now have many sheet film capabilities. I'm only interested in films that are available in sheet film, or are going to be available one day as sheet film.

The Rollie 400S has some IR capabilities. I figured out how to get 50-80 ISO nice negatives using Rodinal, but I would like to get 160-200 ISO for mucho shooting. Once I get developing all figured out Rollie 400S cost is $103.00 for a hundred feet in 70mm, and that translates into 37 rolls of 120 equiv plus bonus frames. The cost per roll is only $2.78.

This film is very interesting due to its being a dual emulsion. I have been looking into developers, and I have discovered in my paper chasing research that Rollie Supegrain is a favored developer for Panchro 400 and Rollie 400S. With the Rollie 400S is seems that it is really a rebranded Agfapan 200 speed film, but that is ideal for me. I really want 200 ISO to be able to mostly use F11 on my Baby Linhofs. Also this film is crazy-cheap.

I like the results with Rodinal with Rollie 400S, but I get about 80 as a film speed. I use 1+50 and get a compensating effect.

With the Panchro 400 I'm just wondering if DDX will work, and if it works for Panchro it should do well for Rollie 400S.

I also choose the Ilford product because it could be useful for Ilford Delta films.
